About the conference
‘Law and development’, a field that once enjoyed strong momentum in research and policy-making, appears today to have broadened its scope but also to have become increasingly fragmented across various areas of law, including human rights law, law and governance, investment and trade law, environmental law, security law and socio-legal research.
The purpose of the conference is:
- to document the scope of law and development research in Europe;
- to facilitate exchanges between scholars on relevant themes;
- and to engage in an inquiry into whether ‘law and development’ should remain as a distinct area of research.
Date: 14 – 16 September 2016
Venue: Andromeda Hotel – Albert I-promenade 60 – 8400 Ostend
